Laptops are quickly becoming a must have tool for a wide range of people.  Students from grade-school through college use them for classes and homework.  Professionals take them into board rooms and on business trips.  Freelancers take them to coffee shops to connect to wireless networks and work while sipping their drinks.  Households have used them to replace the desktop, where they can be used in the kitchen to look up recipes or in the living room to do a little shopping while watching TV.  Grandparents are using them for email and photo sharing.

The huge diversity of people using laptops has driven manufacturers to build machines that are more personalized and fun to use.  And this has caused many more options out there than there used to be.
Pink Laptop Diva was designed to look at all of those competing laptops and the accessories that go with them and allow our visitors to get together and rate and discuss the pros and cons of each.

Laptop Designs and Colors

New laptops are coming out in a variety of colors and designs.  You can find multiple colors, sizes, price ranges, and even machines that are supposed to smell good!  The basic designs are:

Netbooks are ultra-portable machines that can easily slip into a large purse or backpack.  They come with versions of the Linux operating system or with Windows, and often have an option for a solid state hard drive, which increase performance and battery life but are often very small.  These machines start at about $250.

Notebooks are the full sized options.  This is the standard laptop you will find, and can act as a replacement to a desktop.  They are larger than netbooks, but they also have more features.  The starting prices are around $400.
There are several lines of notebooks that now come in multiple colors.  Some brands, like Dell, are even offering artist designs on their laptops.  The colors are normally standard, though, with a black, white, pink, and blue.
