There is no doubt that this is a very nice bag. It appears to be good quality. However, it is a bit large for a 10.5" netbook. Keep that in mind if you are looking for something small to carry your netbook in. However because it is a messanger bag it would probably work well to carry the netbook and accessaries as well as your Kindle, iPod and probably a wallet.
I wanted a better and safer way to carry my Kindle DX. The padded cover was simply not enough protection. My first DX was damaged while inside the tight fitting zipper case. I drop the Kindle DX inside this mini-messenger and I don't worry.
The other benefit is that all of my Kindle accessories, my cell phone, and sunglasses and lots of other personal stuff can be carried as well. This bag was the perfect choice for my Kindle DX.
After reading the reviews and checking out all the options I could find I decided this bag best suited my needs. I have been a computer tech for the past 12 years and hate hauling around more than I need. I have web sites that I run as well as doing your average home office and IT consulting work. I wanted a bag to replace my backpack and I wanted it to be able to carry two laptops if I wanted to work on websites while I was using my other system to clone a drive or be able to switch from Mac to PC. I don't normally need two laptops but I wanted the option to carry both. The main compartment is split in two with my MacBook in front and my 11.6" Toshiba netbook in the rear. The MacBook will only easily fit in the front of the main compartment and it does not strap in but is snug enough that you don't worry about it. If you have a typical Blackberry phone you will need to use the small front pouch as the side phone pouch only holds a standard size mobile phone well. I still have my backpack in the trunk with all the stuff I used to haul around but I only carry this small bag into most of the locations I go to. If you are a big city dweller using public transportation or bicycle this bag would be ideal. Please read the other reviews for details on info how the other pockets work. For myself I found them well designed for everything I need to have on site 90% of the time. What I am also finding out that keeping both laptops together allows for easy charging of both at night side by side. For someone who wants to carry just one laptop please take into consideration that you lose book and magazine space with this bag but I can easily carry an average sized book, newspaper or magazine (sometimes folded) and my netbook.
I love this bag. It is compact yet has room for my net book and all the accessories to carry with it. It's just what I was looking for to travel.
I used the main compartment of this bag one time and the zipper pull came off in my hand. It wasn't overstuffed so I'm thinking it is a quality control issue. I hope it isn't a glimpse of whats to come. I'm returning the bag for an exchange to an identical item and hope it isn't a mistake. For the price of this bag it should be constructed of better quality materials and inspected much better for flaws before shipping to the consumer. I now have to wait for the defective one to show up at Amazon before my new one is shipped back out to me. I need a bag for my netbook now and I've already waited for the defective one for well over a week. Now I have return shipping and another wait for the replacement product. Buyer beware there may be some quality issues.
